A Mind Infinite

Infinity: The Views of a Dreamer

Beneath, My Friend

Wading along,
consumed head to toe by the crushing force of the ghastly black river
Breath not an option as swirling it tugs my body as a rag-doll,
deeper and deeper to the sandy bone ridden bottom where remains of the misfortunate before me lay with eternal silence

The thickness of the black, ebony river’s liquid and I have become a sole being,
tingling through my body– the fullness it has granted is nearly euphoric
As I and the maddening river dance our pas de deux,
fear has all but left these bones though they crackle under the pressure of my dreadful host

Shivering from freezing thick coal tinged water,
I struggle not as I am cast upward out of the river’s mouth of perdition
At the muddy shore of the river motionless,
I gasp for a breath of crisp air the breeze grants me

The murky ink like water spat out from my lungs,
in bliss I lie for in the back of my eyes the blackness of the river lingers on
It and I shall always be as one,
a realization of our infernal matrimony of insidious transformation

In time on a cold winter’s eve standing on a bridge overhanging that chthonic bay,
I smile with a gaze heartily at the chaotic ivory river beneath
Waving warmly and resolutely to my friend residing deep below,
in a moment of maddening nostalgia my body shoves it’s entirety of weight over the rail– so I may be with my sinister companion once more…
