Black Rose

            Black rose,

hanging in the shadow of doubt

A glimmer of distrust,

symbolic of dishonesty

A rose,

not meant to be

For what was never meant to flower,

has blossomed and bloomed

Roots fed,

by the waters of trembling terror

For the rose,

be what was denied to man

All horrors unimaginable,

but carried out, lay contained inside

Laying within the old black rose,

withering in the heat of the sun

The light of day,

decaying the rose into ashes

Black rose gone away,

spread into the soil once more

Doomed to blossom another day,

a day in the future when there will be more days like this

The black rose will sprout from the soil,

transformed into a shade of white

A metamorphosis,

to foretell the calming of the tides

Standing as a remembrance,

of what once was

Symbolizing in it’s shade,

a brighter day to come

Fear not,

what once was

For the black rose withered and died,

with it the evils of yesterday

Washing away in it’s absence,

the white rose brings hope

For a future,

never to be constricted by chains of oppression

Standing in constant bloom,

with it’s color turning toward a shade of red

The blood spilled,

blood that has been spilled lay in the soil

The death of all hate,

of all crimes

Marking an end in silent solstice,

to the past

With the red rose,

having replaced the white rose

What will be known to all,

is a time of great cheer

A time of victory,

for all people who shall be freed

By the rose’s cleansing,

never more to suffer a dark day ahead

Tranquility it’s defining hymn,

for the dawn of a new day
