Border Life: Target Practice

The case of Jose Antonio: A Mexican youth who was walking down the street near the border on the Mexican side was shot dead by agents behind fencing. Allegedly, Jose Antonio threw rocks according to the United States Border Control, armed men behind a cage fired bullets at a young man who posed no actual danger. At least 40 Mexican youths have been killed in past years by the US Border Control for the apparent throwing of stones, fatally executed by the United States Border Control. While at the same time, not a single… A single, US Border Control Agent has been fatally wounded by the throwing of rocks.

The Berlin Wall was classed by the United States government as criminal. From 1961 to 1989, fewer than 100 were killed at the East Berlin Wall, yet, it was called criminal by the global West and the DDR Head of State was criminally charged as having been ‘responsible’ for the use of deadly force at the border between East and West Berlin. As of July 2013, 2,666 have been killed as a result of the militarization of the US-Mexican border.

Where is the voice of “Tear down this wall”? Of calling the actions criminal and a violation of human rights by the United States government?
