A Mind Infinite

Infinity: The Views of a Dreamer

A Not So Silent Night

The sweltering sun floats away into twilight in the dry and barren desert,
Wind echoing defeaning sounds of cruise missiles falling overhead and the roaring of jets
Like a Christmas night, the gifts from above rain down on the homes below,
Saint Nicholas’s sleigh is replaced with an F-16, all the presents make your skin burn and bleed,
Eradicating those beneath as if they were a disease

Jets sail across the stained sky entranced with feelings of tremendous valor
Charcoal pillars of smoke arise from what once were homes and streets,
The fragrance of death rears itself from the rubble where exposed only are the feet of what once were delicate children,
whom in silent sleep dreamt of flying kites
Out from the dark come men in midnight dark masks and camouflage fatigues swearing revenge for this horrendous deed
Meanwhile in the meeting room, the generals speak
Once more the endless cycle repeats
